사단법인 한국-미얀마 경제안보연구회(KMAESS )는 급변하는 국제질서와 미얀마의 정치·경제 환경을 체계적으로 연구하고, 이를 바탕으로 한국과 미얀마 간의 지속가능하고 실질적인 협력을 촉진하기 위해 설립되었습니다.
The Korea-Myanmar Association for Economic and Security Studies (KMAESS) was established to systematically study the rapidly changing international order and Myanmar’s political and economic environment, and to promote sustainable and practical cooperation between Korea and Myanmar.
미얀마는 중국과 인도 사이에 위치하고 인도양과 동남아시아를 연결하는 지정학적 요충지이자, 풍부한 천연자원과 성장 잠재력을 가진 국가입니다. 동시에 정치적 불안정, 국제사회의 제재, 경제환경의 변화 등으로 인해 정확한 정보와 균형 있는 분석이 어느 때보다 필요한 곳이기도 합니다.
Myanmar is a geopolitical crossroads located between China and India, connecting the Indian Ocean and Southeast Asia. It is also a country with abundant natural resources and significant growth potential. At the same time, political instability, international sanctions, and changes in the economic environment make accurate information and balanced analysis more important than ever.
특히 경제와 안보의 경계가 빠르게 허물어지고 있는 오늘날, 공급망, 에너지, 핵심광물, 인프라, 기술, 투자와 같은 경제적 사안은 국가안보 및 국제관계와 밀접하게 연결되고 있습니다.
In an era when the boundary between economy and security is rapidly disappearing, economic issues such as supply chains, energy, critical minerals, infrastructure, technology, and investment are closely connected to national security and international relations.
KMAESS는 이러한 변화 속에서 미얀마와 한-미얀마 관계를 경제와 안보를 아우르는 종합적 관점에서 연구하고, 연구와 정책, 기업과 현장을 연결하는 실천적 플랫폼을 지향합니다.
In response to these changes, KMAESS studies Myanmar and Korea-Myanmar relations from an integrated perspective encompassing both economics and security. We aim to serve as a practical platform connecting research with policy and businesses with the field.

미얀마의 정치·외교·안보, 경제·산업·투자환경과 경제안보 이슈를 지속적으로 연구합니다. 단편적인 정보 전달을 넘어 미얀마 내부의 변화와 국제환경을 종합적으로 분석하여 정부, 기업, 학계와 사회가 활용할 수 있는 신뢰성 있는 지식과 정책적 시사점을 제공합니다. We continuously study Myanmar’s politics, diplomacy, security, economic and industrial environment, investment conditions, and economic security issues. Going beyond fragmented information, we provide reliable knowledge and policy implications by comprehensively analyzing changes within Myanmar and the international environment.

정부, 기업, 학계, 연구기관 및 민간 전문가들이 교류할 수 있는 네트워크를 구축합니다. 양국의 전문가와 기관이 서로의 경험과 정보를 공유하고 새로운 협력 가능성을 발굴할 수 있도록 세미나, 포럼, 국제교류 및 다양한 협력 프로그램을 추진합니다. We build networks where governments, businesses, academia, research institutions, and private experts can exchange ideas. Through seminars, forums, international exchanges, and various cooperation programs, we enable experts and institutions in both countries to share experience and information and identify new opportunities for cooperation.

We work to ensure that research and exchange develop into actual economic cooperation rather than remaining at the level of discussion. Based on professional analysis of markets and industries, we identify opportunities for Korean companies to enter Myanmar and explore projects that connect the strengths of both countries.

We will not settle for research that fails to understand the field, nor for projects without sound research behind them.
